Best Cellulite Treatment - How To Get The Right One

Dec. 26th 2008

Do you believe there’s really a best cellulite treatment? A number of women think there must be and try all sorts of things without ever achieving their desired results. They wind up wondering if an effective cellulite remedy is a reality or just a myth.

If you pay attention to all the advertising on the subject, there are a number of products and cosmetic procedures that will get rid of cellulite lumps and bumps quite nicely. However, if this were really the case, how can you explain the fact that 9 in 10 women still experience cellulite issues? Some believe it’s a genetic condition and you shouldn’t even try to anything about it. Others believe that if you work hard enough or spend plenty of money, you can rid it from your body.

Of course the real answer can be found somewhere in the middle. Cellulite can be reduced significantly and complete cellulite removal is sometimes possible. However, the solution is rarely easy and normally requires behavioral modifications to diet and activity levels. Performing cellulite exercises in particular can help firm and tone the lower body area where most women tend to develop severe cellulite.

As far as products and programs are concerned, some are top notch and quite beneficial while others are simply a waste of time and money. It’s important to check out any cellulite product you may be considering and have a look at what others have to say about it. Seek out a cellulite review with program information and insight you may not readily find on a vendor’s sales materials. And, most importantly, when you have chosen, be sure to use it as directed and give it a chance to work.

Keep in mind that the simplest actions are sometimes the best. As a result, your best cellulite treatment might include activities that improve your health, maximize weight loss and reduce the risk of future diseases. It’s funny, but it seems like taking care of yourself solves many of the problems most people face today, including cellulite.

My Shower Filtration Fixed My Neurosis

Dec. 16th 2008

Some of my life, I just thought that I suffered from dry skin. Not the kind that has some long scary name that ends in “itis” and requires medicated creams, but enough to have developed a sort of neurosis about keeping moisturized. I am a bonafide lotion carrying queen. Lotions supply a bath and body store for months. Well that was me, until I stumbled upon a cure outside of the bottle, a filtered shower head.

It happened pretty suprisingly. While shopping in the shopping center at, you guessed it, my favorite bath and body store, I encountered a clerk who was selling all sorts of shower filters. He actually sold me with a water demonstration where he washed one of my hands with regular tap water and the other with filtered water. I was in total shock, when a moment later I had realized that I didn’t really feel the need to moisturize the hand cleaned with the filtered conditioned water. The saleswoman went on to explain that the reason for my dry skin is due to the daily use of chlorine on my skin. Before then, I had never really thought about the chlorine and other contaminants that exist in the water system. Nor had I ever considered purchasing a shower filter. Although, I use filtration on my drinking water, it really never registered what the unfiltered water in my shower was actually doing to my skin.

Of course, I purchased it right on the spot! The filtration system itself was relatively inexpensive and the shower filter cartridges last about a good 6 months in my house, but the cost is no where near the amount that I have spent in all kinds of lotions and potions in order to stay moisturized. I’ve also seen a huge difference in my hair. It’s not as dry and actually shines like the model’shair does in the shampoo commercial.

Finally, I think my shower filtration system has been one of the greatest investments that I have made in a while. Not only have I regained softer skin and hair, my shower filter also helped me to save quite a few dollars over the past 6 months and best of all, no more uncontrollable urges to moisturize. Life is fantastic!

Critique Of Obagi And The Company’s Skin Nourishment System

Dec. 13th 2008

As we age, many of us become dissatisfied with those fine wrinkles that begin to develop on and around our face. At some fundamental level, we all want an attractive appearance and will use facial care products or more general skin care brands to reach that goal. Prescription products, however, are a more serious consideration.

Obagi Product Skin Care systems are quickly becoming one of the most prescribed products in a dermatologist’s arsenal. Obagi is essentially a take-home chemical peel that’s designed to remove the upper layer of the epidermis, encourage skin cell growth and reveal brighter and clearer new skin.

But, does it live up to the hype and is it worth it? For a broad review of Obagi, keep reading.

Cost

Obagi is expensive and only available by prescription. Patients should be prepared to pay at least $300 up front for the initial system and then at least another $100 per month for ongoing maintenance products. That maintenance can get expensive, especially when compared with the cost of an in-office chemical peel or laser treatment.

Quality of the Product

The Obagi skin care system is an FDA-approved prescription product. Unlike over the counter creams and potions, it must meet particular quality standards. The product has undergone thorough testing and contains a minimum amount of high-grade prescription ingredients.

Because Obagi is a prescribed drug, the potency levels are significantly higher than over-the-counter creams. Therefore, it’s imperative to go over the system thoroughly with your dermatologist before making use of it at home. If you’re at all concerned about potential allergic reactions to Obagi, ask your dermatologist for a small sample.

Effectiveness

When applied consistently and with care, Obagi product skin care systems do work. However, they only work while you’re using the product. If a patient stops using it, their former skin condition will return and start doing so within about 40 days, as the skin rejuvenates itself.

Because of the cost and the fact that the results obtained from using Obagi skin care products aren’t necessarily long term, many patients opt for surgical or in-office treatments like chemical or laser peels.

No-Prescription Obagi

Obagi is a prescription skin care system - that means you need a prescription from your dermatologist to purchase it. However, determined buyers can find Obagi online without a prescription.

Buying Obagi skin care products without a prescription is not only dangerous, but it’s also illegal. In addition, the market is flooded with fakes and counterfeits, which is a serious risk when purchasing from anyone other than a licensed pharmacy.

Conclusion on Obagi Skin Care

Obagi skin care may be a great system that produces phenomenal results, but if those results don’t last in the long term, customers are going to tire of having to pay for ongoing maintenance products.

If you’re serious about skin rejuvenation, try an in-office treatment or treating yourself to a series of facials. When it comes to skin care, Obagi product skin care systems may not be worth it.

What You Need To Know About Hair Laser Remover Devices

Dec. 2nd 2008

Hair laser remover systems come in two varieties - hair laser removers designed for commercial laser hair removal use, and those that are intended for personal use in the home.

How Hair Laser Removers Work

The technology behind the workings of hair laser removers is the rays or beams of laser energy, or specifically with regard to IPL systems light energy, that is used to decimate the follicles of your hairs under your skin. In the case of persons with light colored skin and dark hair especially, the energy is absorbed much more by your dark hair follicles than by your skin, which can decimate your follicles causing permanent hair removal. However, hair laser remover beauty treatment will not result in complete removal of hairs. There will always be a certain proportion that will remain and continue to grow, although effective therapy can remove the majority of them.

The Tria Laser Hair Remover product

A new home hair laser remover, the “Tria”, is the first product to receive FDA clearance to be sold over the counter for permanent hair removal.

Backed by several years of scientific studies, the Tria is created by a reputable company that refrains from making unrealistic claims.

Extensive scientific studies show that patients can expect a reduction of approximately a third in hair regrowth a year after treatment, when compared to around 80% for patients treated with the professional equipment used by medical specialists.

Lasers in Commercial or Home Settings

There are a number of home laser hair removal systems that continue to be marketed but most of these are simply not potent enough to result in the desired permanent reduction of hairs that can be successfully obtained using professional lasers for hair removal.

The majority of laser machines are created for professional use only. There are highly good reasons for this - lasers are powerful machines that can cause significant injury to fragile human organs and skin - the eyes particularly. So sticking to sensible safety procedures is essential, and the correct training is necessary in order to carry out laser hair removal effectively and safely.

The Final Word on Hair Laser Remover Devices

If the most critical factor for you when looking for therapy is that you want the most effective possible therapy, then you should certainly focus on finding an appropriate professional hair removal laser clinic where you can be treated with the most powerful hair laser remover that is safe for your skin. On the other hand, if you are less concerned with the quality and permanence of the laser hair removal therapy and wish instead to have discreet laser hair removal in the comfort of your home, then you may wish to consider one of the modern home hair laser remover appliances.

Eliminate Your Acne Scar

Dec. 2nd 2008

It doesn’t matter what size, shape or the severity of your acne and acne scar, you must treat the lesion at once! The more severe your acne scar the more potent the treatment should be!

The following is a list with the necessary medical procedures a severe acne scar needs for complete elimination.

•Laser treatment - Recognized for removing even the biggest of scars, layer by layer. The heat produced by the laser also tightens the skin, smoothing out the acne scars This medical procedure uses a combination of laser carbon dioxide (CO2), and/or Erbium: YAG laser.

•Punch graft - This procedure involves the physical removal of the tissue containing the scar, and either suture or replacement of the extirpated tissue. There are three main punch techniques used. These punch graft treatments are, Punch Excision, Punch Excision with Skin Grafting and Punch Elevation.

•Microdermabrasion - Acne scar medical procedure for improving the overall skin tone and eliminating superficial mild acne scars. Procedure consists of fine aluminum crystals to produce microdermabrasion effect on the skin. A series of six peels over 1-2 weeks is recommended.

•Chemical peels - Chemical peels are acidic solutions that are used on the skin lesion. The solution acts on the outermost skin layers - causing them to disintegrate and be ‘peeled’ away to reveal the underlying, newer, unaffected skin. Improve small, depressed scars and maybe some large scars.

•Photorejuvenation - Used with a broadband visible light or laser, over a span of 3-4 weeks with commonly 5 to 6 treatments which treat mild acne scarring by producing new collagen.

•Dermabrasion - Thought to be one of the most efficient medical procedures for acne scars. The treatment is executed under local anesthetic; a high-speed brush is used to abrade the skin’s surface and alter the contour of scars. Superficial scars may be removed altogether, and deeper scars may be reduced in depth. However, dermabrasion does not work on all types of scars, and dermabrasion may cause pigmentation changes for individuals with darker skin.

Have in mind; follow up treatments to maintain post surgery results are mandatory.

Frequently these products might only make fine lines disappear but over time with consistent use many people will notice that the effects of again are greatly slowed. For those people that are not looking forward to getting wrinkles one day this can be extremely appealing.

Many young people start to use anti aging skin care products well before they ever actually need to do so. They are trying to protect their skin early on from getting wrinkles before they absolutely have to. This can lead to a lifetime of constantly investing money into anti aging skin care products that can wear away on a person’s budget.
