I knew that my health was in trouble. The news was not good. I had aches that did not go away as easily, I was at risk for diabetes and it was all being caused by the extra pounds I had packed on. The body does not have to be broken down by obesity, but it is not wise to delay taking care of one’s self. Over the long haul the best solution to all of the issues that are caused by being overweight, is to get rid of the extra pounds.

Help, I’m 200 Pounds Overweight

I have a problem. I now have to shop in the big men’s department at the clothing store. I sit on the furniture and it breaks. My grocery bill is completely out of control. I know that I am obese and I need to take control of the problem before it is too late. I’m just not sure how I can accomplish this daunting feat.

Before I had figured out what I should do, I caught the program called the Biggest Loser which was about people who needed to lose weight. I went online and found out that the show had a website that included a link to the biggest loser forum where there were all sorts of helpful hints, tools and chat rooms that are dedicated to helping people lose weight. Finding someone in a similar situation as myself was very helpful and made me feel good. It would be much easier to accomplish anything if I didn’t have to do it alone. I was no done with finding the information that I needed to lose weight.

The next step was to come up with some actual numbers that I wanted to achieve in my weight loss journey. I was more than two hundred pounds overweight and needed to correct it now. I knew that I had to learn how to lose weight fastbecause my health was in danger and if I did not act quickly, I might not get another chance to succeed, and like the people on the show I had watched, I decided that I could lose more than ten pounds a week if I worked hard enough. I knew that I would have to dedicate myself to the chore, but I was up to challenge.

I could not achieve the results by myself, I knew that I wouldn’t succeed by doing a handful of six pack ab exercises in the comfort of my own home whenever I could find the time to do it, and I wanted some professional help. I got myself motivated and worked my way out to a fitness club. The gym was the best place for me to work out with the assistance of experts all around me. I also went to see my doctor to make sure that I wouldn’t hurt myself by trying to work out. He was able to guide me in the proper way to getting fit and healthy. My personal trainer gave me an exercise plan to follow. I was on my way to a better lifestyle.

I lost ten pounds a week for the first few weeks. Suddenly the weight loss stopped and I couldn’t figure out what was going on. My physician let me know that this happens from time to time and it is nothing that I should be concerned about. I took the advice and kept working out. After a short time, I started to lose weight again. All the advice I was given was correct, and I knew I was succeeding.

Since I started my diet and exercise program, I have lost almost half of my body weight. It wasn’t always easy, but it was all worth it. I have added over a decade to my life expectancy by getting healthy. I am well respected at my gym for what I have accomplished. I have a new outlook on the future and I look forward to looking at myself in the mirror every day. The best part of the journey has not been losing the weight although I wouldn’t want it back. I have learned that I like the way the person that I am no matter what I look like. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
