Yeast is a type of fungus and likes to live in a moist, dark and warm place such as vagina. The healthy vagina contains very small quantitles of yeast cells inside. When the number of yeast cells increases too much, you have a vaginal yeast infection. Lots of women experience a vaginal yeast infection.

I developed a vaginal yeast infection nearly two years ago and I experience how the infection sufferers feel every day. I finally found the treatment that worked for me after everything that a doctor recommeded wasted my money. I like to tell my story.

One day, while sitting on a sofa, I felt extremely itchy around my vagina. I was experiencing swelling, redness and burning. I was never a vaginal yeast infection sufferer, but I was familiar with the symptoms. I was pretty sure that it was a yeast infection. I dashed to the nearby drug store and purchased over-the-counter medications. I had some refief and comfort for a short while but the itching and pain never dissapeared.

I decided to see a doctor. She checked the swelling and discharge. In order to run a lab test, she needed to get some samples from the vagina. She told me some of sexually transmitted disease can cause similar symptoms. She came back with the lab results and she told me that I had a vaginal yeast infection.

I asked her how I got a yeast infection. She told me that there are several things that cause a vaginal yeast infection. They are hormonal changes during the periods, diseases like AIDS/HIV, taking medicines like antibiotics and birth control pills, and pregnancy. I was surprised that things like stress, lack of sleep and poor eating habits can lead to vaginal yeast infection.

According to the doctor, I was not supposed to have any over-the-counter drugs until seeing a doctor. She said that 70% of women who buy over-the-counter drugs don’t have yeast infection. The yeast gets stronger and stronger as you use the medication when you don’t have any infection. So, any medication may not work for you when you actually develop the yeast infection.

Accoding to the doctor, you can do several things to keep the symptoms from getting bad. She told me to avoid all the scented items like bubble bath, pads and tampons. I was told to change tampons and pads more often during the period. I had to stay away from any clothes or underwear that are made of synthetic fibers. I was advised to remove the sweaty clothes immediately after the physical exercises.

I took the medications she recommended and followed all the instructions she gave me. They made me feel so much better and I had less itching and less sore. I was very disspointed when all the symptoms returned.

I didn’t go back to my doctor’s office because I felt all the coventional medical treatments failed me. I was determined to do some studies about a vaginal yeast infection myself. I did an extensive research online. And, one day, I found a very interesting posting in the yeast infection related forum. The posting was all about curing yeast infection in a natural way.

It was hard to believe such simple and easy natural treatment would work. After all the treatments I tried failed me, I was a little desparate. I decided to give it a try. Within two days, I had a great relief. In two weeks, almost all the symptoms like itching and soreness were gone.

I strongly suggest you to visit yeast infection cure site if you are searching for yeast infection treatment or vaginal yeast infection cure.
