People that have had cold sores know that is painful, irritating and most of all a big blow to our confidence. Having a blister in ones face is annoying and hard to get the fact out of ones head. Many people seek a relief for the cold sores and that’s were this mini-guide will come in handy. It will outline the basic steps to secure relief for your problems.

The basic thing one should get to know is the symptoms of cold sores. Being able to know when an outbreak is occurring is vital to how long the cold sore will be staying. If you are prepared for a cold sore and get to start your cold sore relief plan immediately when it breaks out, you might reduce the time that it stays for several days, as well as reduce its size and the pain it will give. So once you are aware that an outbreak is imminent, you should apply something cold on the spot that you feel some tingling. An ice cube wrapped in some cloth is great.

Once the sore has broken out and it has fully evolved, then its time to go to the next step in our cold sore relief guide and that is to start treating the sore and make sure it wont infect others. Washing the sore with alcohol is a great way of killing millions of bacterias. This keeps the virus from spreading and helps the body in the healing process. One should also never ouch the sore as it will irritate it and cause it to sustain for a longer duration.

Once the sore starts to be healed, stop applying alcohol and still refrain from touching it. Now adding some topical medicine might be of interest, any kind one can pick up at the pharmacy will do, just find what works for you.

Summary of this Cold Sore Relief Guide:

  • Know your symptoms
  • Apply ice before the outbreak
  • Apply alcohol to kill bacterias
  • Never touch the sore!
  • Add topical treatment in the end

Fast Way to Lose Belly Fat

Aug. 22nd 2008

By Sue Davis

If you’re reading this and looking for a fast way to lose belly fat, then you’re over the first hurdle! You’ve made the decision that you want to, or need to; lose weight, which is a great start.

As with most things in life we know we shouldn’t be doing like smoking for example, the first and often hardest challenge is to accept we have a problem and want to do something about it.

Let’s face it eating too much is an addiction just the same as smoking or drinking, the biggest difference being, is that most of us to one degree or another struggle with this addiction to food.

Fast food outlets surround us selling high fat, unhealthy and cheap products where we don’t even need to leave the comfort of our cars to, order it, pay for it and then EAT it.

In the USA there are an estimated 58 Million Overweight; 40 Million Obese; 3 Million morbidly Obese. In the UK the figures are lower due to population but proportionally not that much lower and catching up all the time. If you’re ready to start losing weight and want to know a fast way to lose belly fat, let’s get going.

Commitment It’s easy to put things off until tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes.

Start today, NO last binges; NO last KFC or McDonalds, just start right now by learning all you need to know about losing weight and burning the fat fast.

Sustainable Weight Loss

Lots of us start diets and make some very crucial mistakes. Having good intentions and initial enthusiasm is one thing but neglecting to get good advice about following a calculated and sensible diet plan will probably lead to failure in your long term goal to lose weight where any enthusiasm you may have had will soon fade away and you’ll be back where you started.

There are so many different examples of diets out there, some very good and some very bad.

The Fad diets, such as The Atkins (Low Carb Diets) are in my opinion the ones you want to avoid. The Human body has evolved over thousands of years and as a result of our ancestors not always being able to find food, our bodies needed to be able to adapt to this by using any fat reserves during times of food shortage and then replenishing the lost fat and protein (muscle) once food was available.

This is exactly what will happen if you remove a lot carbohydrate from your diet for example or reduce your food intake so severely as if to starve yourself. Besides being dangerous to your health, this sort of dieting doesn’t achieve long-term results. Don’t fall into the FAD diet trap, follow a good dieting program and understand how, what and why you should be eating and in what quantities. Be prepared to make changes, but don’t just assume it’s the amount of food you’re eating that has led to your gaining weight. It may just be the types of food you’re eating.

By changing our eating habits and focusing on the types of food we eat, we can often make a huge difference without necessarily always feeling hungry.

Exercise. This may be an obvious thing but remember, the less exercise you get, and the fewer calories you burn. Anyone watching the Olympics recently will have seen Michael Phelps amazing success. Michael revealed in an interview about the incredible amount of food he is able to eat on a daily basis and that he can eat pretty much what ever he wants.

So how come Michael can eat twelve thousand calories everyday and not have any fat on him. Well that’s because he also burns thousands of calories everyday training or competing. If Michael consumed thousands of calories and wasn’t burning them, he’d very quickly gain weight just like anyone else.

You can make some simple changes to your daily routine and start to lose weight. This combined with your sensible diet plan you’ll start to see results fast. Next time you have a choice between taking the stairs or the elevator, take the stairs. Instead of getting in your car and driving that short distance, maybe you can walk!

I personally love to get out on the mountain bikes with my kids, I also love swimming, which is fantastic exercise and very gentle on the joints etc. As a dog owner I also look forward to walking the dogs. It gives me a reason to have to get up and get out whilst helping to burn those calories.

Not everyone will enjoy the same forms of exercise, some will love to run, some will hate running just as I do. It doesn’t have to be a marathon, build it up slowly, don’t over do it but DO something.

Self-Motivation Sure, it’s going to be tough at times but it’s like most tough things in life, if you make the effort and stay focused then you’ll get the results. Remember follow a sensible diet plan, don’t weigh yourself everyday, drink plenty of water and get the right advice.

If you have an item of clothing that you once loved to wear and can no longer fit into. Why not try putting it on every week or two as you progress through your diet plan. There’s no better feeling than when you do fit the clothes that you could not a few weeks before.

YOU have total control over what YOU eat; YOUR success or failure is in YOUR hands. YOU can do it, YOU will do it and YOU’LL be happier, healthier and glad YOU did it.

Sinus Headache Treatment - Number of Ways by Which Sinus Headaches Can Be Treated

Aug. 20th 2008

By Jaren Jackson

Air-filled cavities in the forehead, cheekbones, and at the back of the bridge of the nose are called sinuses. Thin mucus is produced by the sinus that drains out of the canal of the nose. When a sinus becomes inflamed, due to an allergic reaction, a tumor, or an infection, the inflammation will thwart the steady flow of mucus and this results in a pain akin to that of a headache.

Usually makes the pain becomes worse when you bend down or lean over, as does cold and damp weather. Sinus headaches are often worse in the morning and better by afternoon. Sinus headaches are associated with a deep and constant pain in the cheekbones, forehead, or bridge of the nose. The pain usually increases with abrupt head movement or straining. Other sinus symptoms, such as nasal discharge, feeling of fullness in the ears, fever, and facial swelling come along with this pain.

Doctors conduct test to ascertain whether the headache is sinus headache or it is migraine or tension headache. Physical examination for congestion, transillumination i.e. shining a light through the sinuses or in some cases x-rays, a CT scan, or an MRI is done to check for sinusitis.

In order to treat the sinus headache, the primary sinusitis inflammation has to be treated. Treatment can involve using humidifier, and other natural remedies to clear the sinusitis. If the infection is due to bacteria then antibiotics are given to clear the infection. A short period of antihistamines such as Benadryl or decongestants such as Sudafed is given to treat the symptoms. If the pain still persists then corticosteroids are prescribed to reduce the inflammation. When an allergen is causing the sinusitis break out preventive allergy therapy is used.

Sometimes surgical drain of the mucous in the sinuses is also done to clear the inflammation. Alternative treatments like natural remedies, acupuncture and homeopathic medication are also given to treat sinus headaches. Even nasal steroid therapy is used to bring relief and clear inflammation.

We are providing natural treatment for sinus to thousands of people, if you would like to kick your sinus disease

Easy Tips to Help You Burn Fat Effectively

Aug. 17th 2008

By Beth Larson

Wondering how you can turn your body into a fat burning machine? Here are a few simple tips to help you burn fat effectively that will have you on your way to the body you’ve always wanted in no time!

Eat Enough

A lot of people make the mistake of going on extremely low calorie diets when they are trying to burn fat. This actually can wind up doing more harm than good!

If you don’t give your body enough calories it can go into “starvation mode”. Essentially, what this means is that your body begins to think you are starving so it slows down your metabolism to try to conserve energy. It doesn’t matter if your brain knows that you can get more food anytime you want - your body just reacts to what it senses which is that you aren’t getting enough calories.

When your metabolism slows down it means that it will be harder to lose weight no matter how little you eat and much easier to put weight back on when you finally go off the diet and go back to eating normally.

Rather than going on a very low calorie diet focus instead on eating small, healthy, balanced meals 5-6 times per day that give your body the nutrition and energy that it needs. Breaking down your eating into small meals and giving your body the proper nutrition will help to boost your metabolism and make burning fat a whole lot easier.

Drink Lots of Water

Make sure you are drinking a ton of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Build Some Muscle

Most of us do a lot of cardio exercises like jogging, biking or jumping rope when we are trying to lose weight. Cardio is great, but if you are serious about learning to burn fat effectively you really need to add some strength training to your workout routine as well. The more lean muscle your body has the faster your metabolism will run meaning that it will be easier and quicker for you to lose weight. Not only that, but it increases the odds that the weight that you lose will be pure fat rather than just water or muscle.

Lift weights, do isometric exercises that build muscle or try adding push-ups, squats and lunges to your workout at least several times a week to really give your metabolism a kick. It’s a good idea to do your strength training before you do your cardio if you are doing both on the same day.

Liver Function And Detox For Health

Aug. 15th 2008

By Willie Jones

The liver is a reddish brown organ weighing in at about 3 to 5 lbs., resides under the diaphragm on the right hand side of the body, and has many functions. It has two large arteries, the heptic artery, which has the job of carrying oxygen rich blood from the heart into the liver, and the portal vein that carry’s out the blood with digested foods.

The liver is one of the hardest working organs in the body, and excellent liver health means well being, an overstressed liver however, means ill health and potential poor quality of life.

Its functions are:

- Filters harmful toxins, chemicals, preservatives, alcohol etc. The liver is the main line of defense against poisons entering and damaging our system.
- Turns glucose into glycogen which is fuel for your body. Some glycogen is used immediately and the rest may be stored in fat to be used at a later date. It processes protein and fats from digested foods and makes it available for transportation through the blood, which also includes proteins used to make beneficial clotting (such as for cuts and scrapes).
- The liver also produces bile which further enhances the digestive process and waste products are carried away.
- The liver also is a place of storage for vitamins such as B, A, D and K for use as needed.
- It is the major producer of cholesterol and triglycerides which are necessary for all then tissues of the body. Most cholesterol we get is from consuming animal fats but when we do not receive dietary cholesterol; our liver makes it and then distributes it to the bloodstream for transportation throughout the body.
- The liver also produces immune factors for the body that assist in removing bacteria from the blood, enhancing our resistance to infections.

Symptoms of a sluggish liver:

- chronic fatigue
- jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
- frequent headaches
- sleep disorders, nightmares
- dizziness
- hot flashes
- hormonal imbalances
- bloating of the stomach
- smelly diarrhea
- chronic constipation
- gallstones
- skin problems
- weak eye sight

There are many reasons a liver can become over burdened. We live in a world today where toxins are everywhere. There are literally hundreds of FDA approved chemicals, pesticides, fungicides, preservatives, MSG and now genetically modified foods. Processed food is so prevalent in north America’s daily diet that there is absolutely no wonder why we have such an obesity problem.

We are also bombarded with petro chemicals every single time a car, truck or bus etc., passes by us. Living in any city makes it impossible to get away from inhalation of these toxins.

Then there is industrial smoke that plumes out on a daily basis. Anyone living near one of these huge stacks will tell you that when the wind blows in their direction, the smell is definitely present.

Our water sources are also cause for some of the toxins our bodies absorb with chlorine and in some places, fluoride. In some states, they have to deal with toxins reaching underground water (the aquifer) from chemicals used on golf courses etc. It may look pretty but the environmental effects are very evident.

The point is, we live in a toxic environment and unless you are eating organic and live in the wilderness far away from mainstream life, you can benefit from periodic detoxing, especially the hardworking liver.

Some things you can do to unburden the liver are:

- Reduce stress in your environment
- Start your day with lemon juice in warm water, then eat fruit and drink non sugary juices.
- Make sure you eat salads and veggies at lunch.
- Drink a lot of water throughout the day. You can also get some of your water intake through herbal teas. They have beneficial anti-oxidants and depending on what kind you get, some have calming properties, detox properties etc.
- Get enough fiber in your diet. Fruits and vegetables are excellent sources of fiber.
- Get at least 15 minutes of sunshine per day.
- Get yourself more exposure to negative ions. These are present in nature, in forests, at the beach, and in the country. In short, get out of the city whenever you can. If you cannot get out of the city, consider getting an ion generator of some kind. Negative ion therapy is great for helping one detox and rebalance the body, plus negative ions gives you that feeling of well being.

Help your body detox by addressing the liver and just see if you don’t feel better!
